So this is really it. The end of the Semester, the blogging, and spilling out all my creativeness on paper and on a computer. I've got nothing left in me, just to realax and play some great games and work and save up for that B E A utiful black system that the world knows as the PS3.

I attend Huntington to go into Digital Media Animation the Interactive track, the same as Jonathan. R. For reasons beyond me, that isn't really offered here, so I've gone throw a year and a half as an animtion track. But this semester I got a clips of hope working with Maya a 3d modeling program. The same program used to make a ps2 greatest hits God of War. This game isn't for the fant of heart. But a must play.

For this being my last blog, I really don't know what to say. Blogging was hard. In the beginning it was easy. Two blogs a week sounds abou right. But with other things on top of that, needless to say how many people got behind. Going from Animation I to the intro class was different. I don't know how much I really got from this class compared to the other onces that I have know. Animation 2 lets me concentrate on the medium that I want to which is drawn. Storyboard lets me develop my stories that I want to tell or shows me what are good things about great stories. Boarding is different. I went into the class not know how to board. Seeing Leepers stuff made me understand just what I was suppose to do. Its a pretty good class one of the onces I was excited about. Just one thing, I would like to know the tech. about storyboards. What info is on each board and camera angles, things like that. Over all, good class, just to early in the morning.

Maya, I don't need to say anything about this class. Great stuff. Only thing is that there is a lot of stuff to learn in such a little time. So it hard to remember what was learned and appling it to you own stuff. But I give it a must take.

So I guss for my last blog for this class I blogged about my DMA experiences and was good and what was better. Take it, leave it...either way, I'm done.

The Hedgehog and the Fog

This was a really coo little animation. I think it was done with puppets but not sure. The fog was awsome. It amazes me what you can do with the littlest things. Now a days you see people with all this technology make these crapy films, and trust there will be more...much more, and then you see things like this.

I'm not sure if its this one or another one, but I think Co was an adviser in this. I may be wrong so don't quote me on this. It does have a Co-esc feel to it. I realy enjoy the part in the fog when hes lost and look both ways searching for the way out. And he has tha package with him. I don't remember this to much to be honest but I remember jest of it and I know I liked what I saw.

On another hand I went and saw Happy Feet. Yea I know, but just hear me out, if you're still reading, This was a pretty good film. One of the things that I remember Leeper saying is "There will be 20 great years of films and 20 bad years of film" in reguards to 3d animations. With tech. being so widely avavible to people, just about anybody can make it. And with people out ther just looking to make some money and throw out what ever kids film that can just because 3d, its going to be a bad movie. But none the less, despite I ididn't pay, I enjoy happy feel very much. Check it out

If you don't know by now, let me go ahead and tell you. I enjoy playing video games. The other day Leeper made me question this. He said he just couldn't understand how we could sit down and play crazy hours of these games. I was shocked to say the least. When I thought about this some more, I compared it to animation. How you can sit down and spend hours on hours drawing or animating for just a few seconds of film. Seeing your life go by your eyes, lititerly. But really its not that far off from what I've been doing my whole life. I have beaten so many video games I can't even fathum the number. But what do I really have to show for it. Am I smarter, can I attractive the oppisite sex better, did it change the way I view the world I view in? The answer to these question I guess would be yes and no.

I have learned many things from video games from history all the way to how to lie to girls. I would have to say what I get out of them is a great story and an experience unlike no other. In Matt's prentation he listed all the reasons why guys play video games. Then why do girls? Is it for the same reasons?

The image of this blog is video gaem equals books. I put that because I trully believe that the great games either have same crazy fun game play with outstanding replay value and graphics and a great story. I see video games and people see great novels or books or articles. I just read it differently.

Why the PS3 is Better than The Xbox360

So just blog is just mostly to tell Josh that Xbox is weak compared to the greatnest of the PS3. I know, I know, I just gave a presentation of this in class on monday. But that was to decuss the conflicts with the Ps3 and how its going to change how the public views entertainment on consoles. (I did look pretty good that day for anyone that wasn't there)

So okay I know the first this the people think about when you here the ps3, the price. I'm not Sony's spokesmen by any means, nor am I trying to sell their console that you'd have to be lucky to get one before March 2007. I just want to state that At this rate, despite the blue ray delays, this ps3 is going to be a beast that will have to be delt with.

Spec. wize the ps3 does have the cell processor. I don't know the configurations for the Pro xbox 360 model. But I'm sure it isn't as good. HDD well 20 GB for pro 360 and 60 GB for the high end model of the ps3. To be honest the difference between the two at this point aren't to big. Develpoers might notice the diff but consumersk, probably won't. Actucally because of the ps3 raw power it'll be hard to port games over to it because of some twicks and might actually might look worse on the system becasue of it. At the same time we all know when a console si shown the launch game can't light a candel to what is to come. When the true power it tapped.

I'll say this so everyone can know, games make consoles. If you play a certain kind of game, your going to get the console the suits that well. For me I can't just play first person shooter and shooers in general. It has the platform games and then some spots and a few racing. Thats it. It basically based of the connectivity of the shooting games. So its for people that don't want to spend money updating thier PC to play these games. The PS3 is so much more. Oh my. I want to go on but this is already past the 300 word mark and I have to wright like 5 more blogs so we'll see.

I don't know if you're a fan of Miyazaki or not, but let me tell you everyone can easily enjoy Spirited Away. I've been a fan before I even know who he was. With Princes Mononoke the first one of his films I watched. I was blown away by the depth of the story and the character designs. The rich colors and just a all round good film. I've also seen Howl's Moving Castle in Animation I last year. I wonder where he gets these Ideas.

Its pretty interseting the I see all these films or series and I can see them being a great game. I said this before, and I'll say it again. Some people like to read books. I like to Play a great game. What are the differences. There is a story that a person wants to convey or an experience that they want to share. I feel like with video games I can experience this a whole different way then just reading. I'm interacting with the enviroment of the game, so I can feel those sences of fear or excitement. I'll go on more about this in another blog. It'll probably be the one you just ready before this, huh what are the odds.

Miyazaki's films are some of the greatest this generation will ever see. So take it in and remember it.

Okay, when I saw this flash based animation it was last year in Leeper's Web Animation class. This is what Flash should be, not those abomniation you see online. Let me tell you know that, it isn't for the fant of heart. Pretty gory and theirs a lot of blood.

The story is basically how this kind thats a ninja is on a journey somewhere, I really can't remember much of it, and somewhere along he helps this bird. The bird then becomes his friend and helps in verious things. The villian is the Lord of, something and he basically likes to kill people. As the story progresses they meet and ninja makes a full of him. I don't want to say much more you just have to see it for yourself. When you watch it the backgrounds are amazing and so well drawn. The animation is flawless and I can't believe it was done it flash. Great work, highly recomended. Ask Leeper about it. Unfortunitly there is only 12 episodes, and they are also show them on T.V. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Michael Spooner

So since attending Huntington University, there is at least one thing that I will take with me forever. Last year I met Tom B. one lead animator of movies such as (BEWARE OF NAME DROPS) Aladdin, Lion King, and Mulan. Acutally he design Mushu.

This Year I get the privillge to sit down and talk with Michael Spooner. The concept artist of Treasue Planet, Shrek, and Emporior's New Grove. He is a pretty interesting guy especially one on one. Its really nice to talk to people have have the jobs that you wish and urge that you had. They give you heads up on what you might want to look into before you graduate and just advice for how to go through the industry.
In our storyboard class we talk about how are video games are at present time and how we can change how people view the gaming world. Making a portfolio that is the outward embodyment of you and your work. Needless to say that I learned a couple of things. I look forward to the next professional to come and share wisdom.

Oh my its been probably over a month since I blogged anything, But I'm back and with a vengence so its comming back at you.

Hey you remember when we talked about the "Uncanny Valley". That stuff is so true. To explain how this work, is pretty esay. In the graph you see where how people respond to different stimuli visuually. Things such as toy bears all the way to industrial robots. The interesting thing about this is that I saw an ad on T.V. where they sell/ promoting this new horse for Barbbie. Its really creapy and one of the reasons why is because its why to realistic. Its still looks like a Barbbie product but what the weirdness of movement thats not natural and the eyes. So all I have to say that this, "theory" may not so so off. Just think about. You go around and look at thingsthat generally creep you out and see if it falls into the Uncanny valley.

I know isn’t it crazy, I’m bogging again and I just got done posting one. Well to tell the truth I have to do some catching up. So for those who read this, YEAH, for those who don’t, I guess it really doesn’t matter since you don’t read it right. Right!

I saw an interesting video/ commercial in my 3D animation class with Prof. B. I was a commercial for a product called “Zune,” I think. It basically Microsoft B.S. answers to Apple’s ipod. But the commercial itself was quit nice.

It starts of with this unique bird that flies up to a normal. They sit there for about a couple seconds looking at each other. The music in the background has a nice beat to it. Suddenly a blue light flies from the unique bird’s head to the others. He burst in flames as the music turns into this rock/ punk beat. The bird jumps and spins while the flames surrounds it. It stops the ashes fall, while the music returns to normal, from the bird and now he is uniquely colored like the first bird. Then the both burst in flames and dance with the music back to rock and punk. End the commercial with the Zune logo.

It’s done with 3D background with 2D models of birds. On a side note I really want to do cell shading and do an animation with Toon Boom or an animation that looks like Metal Gear Solid for the PSP, the novel one.

That’s all I really have to say. There will be more next time, hopefully.

Oh yeah I remember the reason for this was. DON’T MESS WITH APPLE!!!!

Night with luv.

OH MY…I know I really quite but I can’t, but don’t worry this is the second to last one. You can stop reading whenever you want. Unlike me I have to blog, you don’t have to read. So if you want to stop, I won’t hold anything against you. Go ahead…stop reading.

Now to business. I can’t remember which class I watch this in but it was a Leeper class, so either Intro DMA, Storyboard, or Animation 2. But I think its called “The Man that Panted Tress. This movie really spoke to me. If I actually wrote this right after I watch it I would remember all the points I wanted to tell.

The basic plot of the story was how this man goes traveling and get lost in a desert and finds himself watching a man heard sheep. The man speaks very little, but he herds sheep and as he does this he also plant a hundred seeds a day. As the progresses through both World War 1 and WW II people start to notice this forest appear out of nowhere. Not know that this single man planted these trees.

He has so much determination to devote is life to planting these trees after he lost his wife and child. I don’t know what it was but I spoke to me. Somewhere in this 3o minute short film the say something like God him self had to look had to look at him in amazement or something. But nothing could stop this man on his mission. So I’m going to go plant my trees with same determination and I’m done blogging.
Hey all, read or die…is a great anime! I recommend watching it, cough. Its time for a nice healthy blog. Mmm blogging.

So after looking of a couple of the blogs, I saw something interesting about Star Wars, and it made me think about Davis Hall. Which is better, a Jedi or a Ninja. The whole confusion with that act, it never got settled. So I am here to repremen this debate.
I feel, personally that Ninjas are much better then a Jedi. Come on really, 1.) a Jedi is just a future Ninja. With that said I really don’t need to elaborate, but I will because I need at least half a page or text. Davis Hall actor, Ben Davis, brought up the fact that Jedi have the “force” and crap like that. Needless to saw that Ninjas can do all that and more. We’ve all seen “A Ninja pays half my Rent,” and we all know how awesome that was. I recommend seeing Ninjai. Its completely done in flash and it is pure perfection. Ask Leeper about it.

In this paragraph I’m should talk about Jedi but that’s not really worth my time. I have nothing left so…
So For the last couple of blogs, I actually wrote them In Windows Word because our internet isn’t on its better side. But hey I’m here to blog about children movies and why parents let them see it when it might be bad. Lets go!

So in class, we were talking about capitalism and socialism but I don’t really mind for that. Children movie ratings though is important and how we as animators or film makers decide what we do. The point that I’m trying to get at is that, I managed a movie theater for two years. And I would see crowds and crowds of kids go see a movie like “Mean Girls.” Granted that it is a good movie, but I would want my 10 year daughter to go see that. The other things is that the film makers don’t care what they make as long as the get a large return on it. Is money really that much important over our morals and values? I would hope not.

The year that I’ve been year I learned a couple of things about myself land my art. Despite that I want to make video games, I still have some what of a decicion that I put into the games I help make.

I know its been a while and the next couple of blogs are going to way out of order. Why? Because I wrote them in Word because our internet is slow and I just waited half an hour to load this page to write what you may or may not be reading. So lets get to it..Again.

There are a couple of things that I want to say. Class related, slim. One is this movie I just saw like Saturday, its called the "The Prestige" and this movie is twisted. 1.) I'm not a critic so I can't rate and or judge this movie. 2.) It was bloody awesome. I think everyone in there right might should go see it.

I'm currently playing a video the has peaked my interest. Its called Bully, made by Rockstar. Maybe you've heard of it. I'm having alot of fun with it but it seems that Rockstar has done it yet again. With its freerome gameplay and its contraversal. The main plot of this is game for those that don't know, is a kid named Jimmy that has been abandon by is mother and stepfather, so they can attend their year honeymone. He is left to fend for himself at this private schoool propperly called Bullworth. Much like the GTA series only with kids and they go to school and classes. Its "currently" rated T for teens. There is no blood, but there is violence and some sexual themes. I'm seem to enjoying the story and how it all plays out. This brings to the whole thing about how children play and asborb information from games. So they can deal with it in a construct way. Playing out GTA is not recommend by any means. Playing out Bully isn't highly recommended but its how some schools really are. So... what do you do?

Write something...if you dare...BWAHAHAAHAHAHAH
happy halloween

Hey kiddies! It’s been a while but I’m back to blog…again. But hey what can you do when it’s your homework. Especially when its worth three blogs like this one. Now lets get to it.

I went to go see the screening to watch Co Hodeman’s work. It was and wasn’t what I was expecting. The first hour was dedicated to children work. Like Ludovic and Boxes. Which was nicely animated may I add. There’s a part in “Boxes” where the main character is walking down the street. Instead of moving the camera and everything he switched it up and mad the building move back and the character staid still. It was awesome. The “Sand Castle” was wow as well. For those who have ever animated in the sand back here, its really nice and you can do some amazing things (Luke Numitz) with it. It can be peaceful as well. But controlling it can be a nightmare. I really like what Co brings to his work for children.

He more adult geared work is nice as well. I can see where he wanted to show this to more matured audiences. Having him work with the Animation 2 class was nice. But it was even better having him come to the Storyboard class. I think I got more out it there then anything else. I really got to learn some interesting things with that. So thank you Co Hoedeman.
